ReplyDeletePosting for Bette via FB. She brings our random facts total up to 13. Interesting stuff, Bette, Who knew?
ReplyDelete1. My birth name was Martha Jean Barber. I am definitely not a typical Martha (as in Stewart or the Bible) .
2. Carlton was named for a Memphis lawyer whose wife played the organ for our wedding. His middle name is Harry's. Carolee's middle name is Elizabeth, my given name ( nickname Bette). Both children were named before Harry and I were married.
3. I stop whatever I am doing to watch "The American President". I think President Obama comes closest to the Michael Douglas role that any other President in my lifetime.
4. I have a doll that has been under our Christmas tree every year since I was born. Harry and I bought Carolee a doll that's been under the tree every year since she was born. That doll's face is a dead ringer for Colin!
5. The first time I saw children who had hair the color of mine before I was an adolescent was in Denmark.
6. After cataract surgery I no longer needed the glasses that have been part of my face since early elementary school. I know I should wear protective goggles because my eyes are not used to being unprotected!

8. I attended the tickertape parade in Chicago for the astronauts who went to the moon in 1969.
9. I went to see ”To Kill a Mockingbird" on the day the Malco (now the Orpheum) was integrated beyond the upper balcony.
